mystrings
I downloaded mystrings through cydia and changed the carrier text and i noticed when i upgraded and restored to 4.1 firmware i still have my custom carrier text. Is there any way to get rid of this if I have to take my phone to apple or anything like that.or will apple be able to tell if it has been jailbroken and not support it?. Thanks for any help.

You have two options

Either rename you Carrier back to what it was called e.g Vodaphone, T.mobile or ????? and back up your phone with itunes (as thats where its kept) then when you restore it will just put on what you named it.
Or
When you restore set up as a new phone (you will loose all you contacts and stuff)but it will name the carrier as what it ment to be
Hope this helps

i found a solution!
1. in MyStrings, set the carrier to "Custom" and leave the textbox blank (you should see nothing but the signal and 3G/WiFi bars in the statusbar)
2. respring
3. uninstall MyStrings (in Cydia)
4. respring
5. install MakeItMine (cydia)
6. in the MakeItMine app, leave the textbox blank and press Carrier, then hit respring
7. you should see the official carrier back in the statusbar by now
the option to set the carrier yourself in MyStrings like it was written before is an alternative yes, but with the retina display, it is not as crisp as the official carrier text
