Best browser
Didn't know where to start this thread.
I guess it would be under Native Apps - but there's only an Installer forum there.
Where do you discuss native apps ?
Anyway, just wondering how many people use Mercury browser.
All the excitement about Safari Downloader seems odd when Mercury's had this since forever ... all in a browser that makes Safari look like some kind of Fisher-Price offering.
I guess what amazes me most is that Mercury isn't everybody's browser of choice - given just how much more configurable/usable it is ... but I guess that's down to factors other than merit.

Ive never heard of mercury is it
On the AppStore?
And every browser I've used (opera,perfectbrowser3 etc etc) are no where near as speed/memory efficient as safari, the devs of Cupertino really made safari work a treat on the iPhone! Ive always thought it best to stick with safari

Just installed the free version, it's not as fast to load pages up

And for some reason any change I make to the settings will crash the app and not be applied :/

WiBlaze was insanely fast when I had it.
I forgot to reinstall it when o restored my phone and now when I install it in cydia I it doesn't show up anywhere in my SB or search. Weird.

It's not as fast as iPhone's Safari but the Mercury can maximizes the full screen by placing navigation, settings, and bookmark buttons as transparent overlays in the lower left. It acts as if it were a desktop web browser

I love Atomic Web. I've tried Perfect Browser, Mercury, and Mango. But I always go back to using Atomic after about ten minutes. I just use a separate app for downloads. I like Atomic because of fullscreen, the insane amount of customizability, and ad-block, which comes with changeable filters. Just did a speed test for a heavily ad loaded site, ipodtouchfans.com. Safari loaded it in 21 seconds, Atomic in eight! And best of all, no ads.
Let's go Red Wings!
