hey guys...
i have iphone 3g with 5.11.x baseband...it was on 3.1.2 thn i restored it with 4.0(with no errors and any problem)...thn i jailbroke it with redsnow....n then i made a huge mistake i unlocked it with blacksnow(i shld have done it with ultrasnow).....
aftr that iphone went to rebooting mode....thn i tried to restore it with 4.0(error 3194)...thn i tried restoribg it with 4.0.1(again 3194)
thn i downgrade it somehow to 3.1.2...bt the process didnt complete...stops in the middle n itunes gave 1501 eror....which i search on net n ppl says its not a big thing n i shld go for jailbreak straight away...so i did it with redsnow....it is jailbroken now...bt the problem is cydia is not opening...t is crashing ....i tried restoring many times...but it is not opening...i want to unlock...so plz guyz tell me what to do....i want to upgrade it to 4.x...with jailbroken n unlocked....plz help me....if i try it to restore it wih 4.x..it gives me error 3194...what to do now??/my phone is like dead...i cant use it anymore...

1015 is good. Just means the fw was restored to properly but the baseband wasn't downgraded correctly. Just kick it out of recovery mode with Recboot. Then proceed to jb as normal.

Edit: do a restore again to 3.1.2 and when you get error 1015, use Recboot. Then you can proceed to use Redsn0w to jb again.

i did...bt now the cydia is nt opening...its crashing...so m nt able to unlock on 3.1.2...plz help...

You will not be able to jailbreak your iPhone 3G on firmware 3.1.2 BB 05.11.07 with Redsn0w version 0.9.4. Redsn0w v0.9.4 was designed to jailbreak firmware 3.1.3 on baseband 05.12.01.

• Redsn0w version 0.72 & 0.80 - will jailbreak firmware 3.0
• Redsn0w version 0.92 - will jailbreak firmware 3.1.2
• Redsn0w version 0.93 - will jailbreak firmware 3.1.2 w/internet tethering enabled
• Redsn0w version 0.94 - will jailbreak firmware 3.1.3

You will need to use Redsn0w v0.9.2 to jailbreak your iPhone 3G on firmware 3.1.2 with BB 05.11.07. I would recommend starting over and restore firmware 3.1.2 and then jailbreak using Redsn0w v0.9.2.

If for some strange reason Redsn0w still fails, try using GeoHot's Blackra1n. It was also designed to jailbreak firmware 3.1.2. This will get you back to firmware 3.1.2.

If you are trying to get to 4.0 or 4.0.1 jailbroken on your iPhone 3G, then you have two paths.

1) Redsn0w 0.9.5b5-5
Restore firmware 4.0 and jailbreak using Redsn0w version 0.9.5b5-5. I recommend that you disable both multitasking and home wallpapers as they cause major performance issues on the 3G.

2) Jailbreakme method
Restore firmware 4.0. You will need to activate your iPhone 3G for this method in iTunes. Comex's jailbreakme method does not hacktivate your iPhone 3G so you will need a legitimate SIM card to activate. If you live in the USA, then use or borrow any AT&T SIM to activate your 3G. Once activated, then launch Safari on your 3G and enter JailbreakMe.com and then slide the button that says Jailbreak Me.

Redsn0w 0.9.4 can jb 3.1.2 just fine. Did it on 2 iPhones last week. It's meant for 3.1.3, but it does the job just fine on 3.1.2.

thnks guyz...i did 3.1.2 succesfully...now cydia is opening just fine...bt now i want to upgrade to 4.0 or 4.0.1 or 4.0.2...bt when i restore the firmware starts to verify n thn it gives 3194 error n dont let me restore...how can i remove that error...thnks

Create a custom 4.1 fw with Sn0wbreeze 2.0.2 then shift+restore to the custom fw.

You will then be on 4.1 jb.

i made custom 4.1 fw...bt now when i m restoring it in itunes..i get error 1601 and 1602...n yeah i put it in dfu mode correctly...
