Best for iPhone 3G?

I have an iPhone 3G, currently jailbroke on 4.0 (with 05.13.04). It is running so slow....

What is better, to go back to 3.1.2 (can I?) or to upgrade (which should I go to?).

I don't use this as a phone, more like an iPod Touch for my daughter.

Its no so much whether 4.1 or 3.1.2 is better as it is what you prefer. Upgrading is probably a more logical way to go for future purposes.

Create a custom 4.1 firmware with Sn0wbreeze (download stock 4.1 ipsw to use with).

Shift+restore in iTunes to the custom 4.1 fw. All done

Oh, if you happen to run into any errors during the restore process, running iReb will bypass that.

But how does 4.1 run on the 3G? Is it as slow as 4.0? Or did they fix that?

4.1 will run abit slow compare to 3.1.3.. about 1sec slow or more in opening everything.. i would reckon stick to 3.1.3 the best.. just my opinion.. im downgrading mine tonite.. ><

I'd say go to 3.1.3, that's what I've done with my 3G, 4 firmware sucks, and as for a jb tool, redsnow has always been my personal favourite
