Screen randomly turns on
So as an example while sitting in lecture my iPhone 4 will be sitting on my desk and my screen will randomly turn on with out even receiving any notifications. Any ideas as to why this occurs?

My 3rd gen. iPod Touch used to do this. A restore isn't necessary, but try repetitively pressing the lock button. It worked for me, possibly your lock button or software is buggy.

Go turn auto on to off in settings next to auto lock
Sry lol
It would be nice if it were that simple but yeah restore if it bothers you just don't go to 4.1 if it's on 4.1 your within your 1year contract take it back and demand a replacement just make sure your contacts and all are backed-up in iTunes

Don't worry! My nerdy uncle is working on a 4.1 jailbreak. Sit tight, he's almost finished.

If I take it back won't they give me one with 4.1 on it? I've only had this iPhone 4 for a month now

If I have helped you then thank me.
