Emoji: iPhone 4 on iOS 4.1... NOT!
Well this is just plain stupid! iOS does not bring OTB the possibility to enable emoji keyboard. There are a plethora of emoji-enableing apps on the app store, but NONE enables the iphone to send emoji to other devices apart from iPad, iPod touch or iPhones... Isn't this stupid!?!?! Does Apple believe that we iPhone owners just communicate with other iPhone owners?!?!?
I would be eternally grateful if someone points me to an app that does this... Come to think of it, I would be just as grateful if someone just explains to me why Apple does this... Oh man, every time is a different thing with Apple. I'm growing tired of this ****...

It really doesn't have anything to do with apple as to why you can only send emoji to other idevices. It has to do with the fact that the other phones can't display the emoji from the iPhone. Most phones out there can't display emoticons sent from a different kind of phone.
In order to get what you want there would have to be some kind of standard for how mobile devices interpret and display emoticons, and then ALL mobile device manufacturers would have to adhere to that standard. It's just not going to happen.

The thing is, on my past 2G and 3G (both on 3.0 and jailbroken/unlocked) when I send emoji to my gf on her BB, she can see them! So, there has to be SOMETHING on 4.1! Besides, how difficult can it be to agree on a protocol or something like that so all devices can "talk" emoji to each other...
