Any advantages to baseband upgrade?
I'm on iOS 4.0 with baseband 05.11.07 but am wondering what the befits are, if any, in upgrading the baseband. With iOS the new features are clear and I will upgrade to 4.1 when a jailbreak is out, but is there an equivalent list for the baseband? Are there some call quality improvments for instace, or perhaps the number of dropped calls are reduced?
Obviously many baseband upgrades serve only to make the iPhone unlockable, but as I am Apple unlocked this is not an issue.
Thanks in advance.

If you don't need a software unlock, it usually isn't relevant.

If your factory unlocked then you might aswell, I imagine there will be bug fixes/ battery usage improvement in the updated baseband. Plus 4.1 is pretty cool on an i4

It is sweet running 4.1, GREAT improvement since iOS4.0.x
I've restored now though because redsn0w messes up alot of things:
Wifi- connects but won't load anything
Slide to unlock just resprings so have to hold power and home and then quickly release before it turns back on
No phone app
Commands through ssh are FAIL
So yeh but not whilst jbed lol
I've just released that now I don't have any jbed phones... I have 3.1.3 shsh's for my 3G so might dg and re jb but I'm preferring the speed right now tbh

If u have a 3G, not 3Gs the speed of loading is greatly increased much like back on 3.1.3, but in the idea 3Gs should be faster to unless they only did that for 3G but seriously doutfull

Yeah, that's what I figured... I might as well upgrade to 4.1, restore to 4.0.1 and jailbreak so I get the latest baseband. Have all blobs since 3.1 saved. My 3GS is playing up a bit right now and I don't really want to wait for the 4.1 jailbreak, plus it doesn't really bring anything new for me. Bluetooth improvements and Game Centre are things I don't/wouldn't use.
