I just read an article that said we jailbroken iPhone users, would be able to jailbreak our ps3's with psfreedom. Is there any possible release date on the horizon? Palm pre and Droid already have a similar app running.

I don't see the point in this tbh, y not just do it through a USB stick? Does the same job. Or just get an xbox

Well a USB stick is being sold for almost $200 usd. And there is no point in buying it now because the source code has been released to the public. Also implementing it on An iphone is genius, wish we were the first to do it. And buying an xbox....don't get me started, you have to hard mod those and that's not worth my time. Plus I already own a ps3 so. That being said, does any one know when an expected release is due?

for some reason I thought you or the other guy was asking why this isn't on a droid etc. That's why I mentioned it was... good morning me.
I can't remember where I had seen it (I went googling after this post) but someone says that for the iphone use it'll have to remain connected through USB while the ps3 is on else it loses the jailbreak.
It's not too surprising since most need to be run each startup at least. The TI84+ can run the jailbreak too and must be run at startup.
Very cool though. And there's a list of game compatibility internal drive, external drive or both here:

The jailbreak allows homebrew games, also allows you to backup games onto your hdd and play them without the original game disc. But with the new firmware update Sony has pached the exploit. So yea the new update puts you outta the loop at least for now

This is now useless if you want to play online. Sony has patched everything now as of yesterday morning.

There will be workarounds, there always are.

I hope so because not being able to play online is kinda pointless. I had ordered myself a USB avr board but once I read that Sony has blocked everything I just cancelled my order. I figured I would just wait a little longer and see what happens.
