Iphone 3gs Speaker Problem

i have an iphone 3gs
recently i updated to ios4 and suddenly the volume of speaker became too low..now the volume of ringtones and songs is too low.
before updating also there was a slight decrease in volume
please tell me what to do

try restoring it. if that doesn't work, take it to apple as it would be a hardware problem.
