iOS 4.1 jailbreak good news
iPhone jailbreakers, rejoice! Just moments after Cupertino, California-based Apple made available iOS 4.1 to the public, iPhone hacker pod2g from the iPhone Dev Team managed to successfully discover a new bootrom exploit that can be utilized to jailbreak all iOS 4.1-based devices such as the iPhone and iPod Touch. The good thing is that, unlike JailbreakMe, users who jailbreak their iOS device will be able to change the boot and recovery mode logos along with several other things with the new bootrom exploit-based jailbreaking tools.
Now, the best part about a bootrom exploit is that Apple needs to update the hardware in order to block the jailbreaking tool, which means that iPhone, iPod Touch, and perhaps even iPad units purchased before this week are hypothetically jailbreakable. You see, Apple can not block this with a simply firmware update. That’s the same reason why iPhone 3GS units purchased after November 2009 cannot be jailbroken with the PwnageTool that uses the 24kpwn bootrom exploit, which was also discovered by pod2g.
We can expect the iPhone Dev Team to release a new jailbreaking tool for iOS 4.1 devices soon.

Last statement from MuscleNerd when somebody ask him... Woohoo! So can we jailbreak iOS 4.1 yet? "No, we can’t." MuscleNerd said, "there is a lot of work to be done. However I do feel confident we’re going to see a jailbreak for iOS 4.1 by the end of the month (that’s just me predicting – nothing’s sure)."
