New iTunes/ Or have I lost it completely ?
Hello Chaps,
Last night I had to re-install windows (Vista) and as a result I lost my iTunes, and ALL my other programes/music etc etc etc, BEFORE I download it again I have a few questions.
(1) I would prefer NOT to have iTunes 10 as I believe it is not as good as the previous version (Any idea how I can get the old version again?)
(2) ALL my music/playlists are safe on my wonderful iPhone, BUT IF I hook up a new itunes(Whatever version) will I loose my music/playlists as they are no longer on my itunes OR my pc?.
(3)I noticed that when I last used iTunes (before) my windows re-install, iTunes made a back-up!!!! Can I somehow retreive this?
(4) And finally,Thanks for any assistance you chaps can offer.
Regards
from a chilly/wet London.

1. Old Version of iTunes Download - OldApps.com <-- Just choose which version you want and download.
2. You can use something like ifunbox or diskaid (or anything that gives you root access to navigate to /var/mobile/media/iTunes_Control/Music) to transfer your music. And you will only loose your music if you sync. Im not sure about getting playlists tho.
3. Not sure. Was my post helpful?

Just google "iTunes 9.2 download" you'll be able to find it. As for you music, backups, playlists, ect.... That depends on what kind od reinstall you did. If you reformatted the hard drive then it's all gone. If you still have the c:documents and settings/"user name"/music/iTunes/iTunes music and all your old stuff is still in there then it's all safe. Just copy all of it to the same folder for your current user name. Then when you reinstall iTunes it will read from that.

Even if you have reformatted, an all your music is gone, when you plug your device into iTunes you may get lucky and get the option to import music/pictures/videos from the device onto your computer, if not your out of luck I'm afraid
but anything you've previously purchased off iTunes will be free if you try and download it again, regardless wether you lost all data or not
