Thread: My iPhone will not restore at all!?!

Default My iPhone will not restore at all!?!
Okay so I tried downgrading from iOS 4.0 on my iPhone 3G to 3.1.3 and it has not been working at all. I have a T-Mobile SIM card, FYI.

    • If I use Spirit to jailbreak it, it just gives me an error.
    • If I use sn0wbreeze, it only gives me the custom firmware and I cannot do anything with it.
    • redsn0w doesn't work because once it tries to install its custom firmware, the iPhone will not take it. It will simply boot to the screen telling me to connect to iTunes.

Basically when I try to restore my iPhone thru iTunes with sn0wbreeze's firmware, or even the official firmwares such as iOS 4.0.2, 3.1.3, or 3.1.2, my iPhone will not restore and it will take me to the screen asking me to connect to iTunes while iTunes stays on the progress bar saying "Preparing iPhone for restore".

Also, I am currently on 3.1.3.

This may or may not be helpful, but try using a different computer. with new firmware files and all

Well I found a few mistakes youre making.

Spirit requires an official carrier's SIM to activate before you can jailbreak.

Sn0wbreeze creates a custom fw you have to shift+restore to.

Redsn0w uses stock fw only, you cannot use a custom fw on it.

So heres what you wanna do:

    1) put your phone into DFU
    2) shift+restore to 3.1.3
    3) get error 1015, 1011, or 1013, ignore it. Use Recboot to kick your phone out of recovery mode.
    4) get redsn0w 0.9.4
    5) get 3.1.2 ipsw (not 3.1.3, even tho thats what you restored to)
    6) open redsn0w 0.9.4 and select the 3.1.2 ipsw
    7) follow the directions thru Redsn0w.

    Youre done.
