Change "slide to unlock" text?

can this be done through ssh, maybe on winterboard?

you can do it manually through ssh. the old skool way.

the file you want is located in /system/library/coreservices/springboard.app/english.lproj

download the springboard.strings to your pc and its the first line. just edit and then upload back to your phone.

OK SO IF YOU GO to system/library/coreservices/springboard.app/English.lproj and look in springboard.strings (the easiest way is using iFile) and find where it says "away lock label" next to that you wil see "slide to unlock" change the text inside the brackets and then respring/reboot your device

if your not a computer person its not actually as hard as it sounds

you can do it through a theme by having a springboard.string file in your theme but I don't know where about inside a theme the file.is put

EDIT if you go to var/stash/themes/(themename)/bundles/com.apple.springboard/English.lproj (you may have to make files/folders if u don't have a theme with them) then all you need is to make sure you have the away_lock_label string in the lproj and respring

to make it easier for you ill just upload a little theme for ya

here you go the theme is classica 3 (its not mine!) it is a free theme though
i have just added a com.apple.springboard into /bundles for you, when you go to /bundles/com.apple.springboard/en.lproj open the springboard.strings file and you will see the away lock label and then you will see where ive written "put your lock text here!" make sure you dont delete the brackets!! they are very important (prop lists (.plists) can be dangerous to edit, if you leave out an important " or ; then the plist will become unreadable by both the device and YOU so be careful

ok so i tried editing in ifile at the location given i see the "slide to unlock" but i got an error after editing it and saving settings. i also dragged the springboard.strings file onto my desktop to maybe edit it that way but what do i open it with? i tried wordpad it was a blank page

istrings did not work for me tried with/without winterboard

as far as the theme that was uploaded thanks for the effort but im already using a theme dont want it to override anything...this is really irritating me lol

iStrings works as long as you puchase the latest official version.

okay the line needs to look like this when youve edited INCLUDING ALL QUOTES AND ;

"AWAY_LOCK_LABEL" = "SLIDE 2 PWN";
REMEMBER SPACES ON BOOTH SIDES OF = AND REMEMBER THE ; AT THE END IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!
