I have an (ip4)jailbroken for a while now. As recent as a couple of weeks ago (when i first noticed)i'm unable to download apps from the App store.
This is what happens:
1. I click on the app store icon and enter the app without a problem
2. find an app i want, click on free/paid
3. click install
4. the screen flashes and i'm returned to the home screen without the app downloading. it happens every time.
Can i uninstall the app store then install again. are there repercussions behind doing that?
Anyone know of a solution to this problem?

You can try to reset all settings and see if that helps. You cant uninstall the app store and reinstall it, but if the reset thing doesnt work try restoring your iphone (if you are unlocked make sure you have SHSH so you aren't forced to go to 4.0.2). First try setting the phone up as new, then if it works you can try to restore your backup.
No, SHSH are a backup from the restore process that allows you to restore to a firmware that apple is no longer signing. Without them you cannot restore to a previous firmware. Is your iphone software unlocked and/or jailbroken?
I have my phone jailbroken.
I also have a solution to my problem, so you can spread the word in case you run into some poor soul with the same problem.
Solution:Remove the App Store app from "categories". Power off then back on. Problem solved.
For some reason the App Store doesn't work as it should when in categories.
Back to SHSH. Is there a program I can google and download to my computer to help me with SHSH? Or is the program to be downloaded called SHSH?
