Play Music & Games at once

New Iphone 4 JB user and had a question about modding. When playing many games, ipod functionality turns off. What is the best way to go about allowing the ipod to continue to play while the game continues. Also anyway to disable game sound while doing this?

Most games like Angry Birds let you disable sound, also I can play music while playing a game by doing this: Go to iPod app, play the song or play list, click home button, then click the game, then start playing, most games don't cut it off for me, but some that do I double click the home button then swipe left and the iPod controls come up and click play. It works for my iPhone 4, idk about other devices.
