3gs/jailbroken/greyed-out music, Help
Hi,
I am a newbie and have had my phone unlocked and it appears that when it was unlocked the person who did it also placed 'Cydia' on it.
I have a 'Cydia' app and it is showing 6 updates,
I need some advice as to
(a) is it safe to use this and if so is it safe to update 'Cydia'!
(Recomendations PLEASE)
(b) Will this in anyway prohibit itune app downloads?
(c) Once I recieved my phone back ALL my playlists are 'Greyed' out and I cannot seem to delete/alter any songs via itunes that were on there prior to it being 'Unlocked'.
How can I 'Ungrey' my songs on itunes and therefore my iphone?
I did manage to download and install an app from either 'Big Boss'/iSpazio/Modmyi/etc (Font changer) that is working well.
I appreciate this is probably a simple solution BUT being a novice I would appreciate any assistance anyone can offer me.
Thanks
Version: 3.13 (7E18)
Modem firmware 5.12.01

Did you check to make sure that the sync music box is checked? Go to your phone in iTunes, click the music tab and make sure that box is check. The phone may have switched to the library of the person you brought it to if he connected it to his computer.

Hi,
Thank you for the help,
I have done all you advised I do ...... BUT....
All the music that was on there prior to it being 'Jailbroken' is 'Ticked' but greyed out that amounts to 9Gb,
I cannot add to or alter in any way this 9Gb.
Since then I have added 1Gb this is also ticked BUT NOT 'greyed out, BUT again I CANNOT add this to my phones playlists (even after syncing)although I can play it in iTunes.
IF, as you say the person who 'Jailbroke' the phone did link it to his pc would it be a simple case of returning it to him to rectify.
Thanks

You may be able to go back to him, have him connect it to his pc and uncheck sync music. Or possibly even just remove that music, so you can re-add it.
