Should I trade up from 3GS to Iphone 4?

Hi all,
reading about problems with the new phone, dude at apple fired/quit whatever. Reading about these things just making me think not to purchase the new iphone. My opinion there is a design issue. I also see that apple maybe releasing an iphone 5 early next year? Is this BS?
What are your thoughts about this?
Should I wait, I mean I am not having any problems with the 3gs but would like to have that new screen.
I am up in the air about this.
