First of all, excuse me for my ignorance. My google/searching skilsl suck xD. Anyways, I've been searching to the best of my ability, but quite frankly, I'm tired of reading through pages and pages of the same stuff over and over which do not answer my question or vaguely answer my question.
I have an iPhone 3G running 3.1.2 (been jb with blackra1n for a little less than a year) and an iPhone 3g which I will address as iPhone #2 which runs on firmware 3.0. iPhone number two is jailbroken but cannot use cydia, don't know why.
I want to shsh both of them if I can, if it is possible, then can someone refer me to an easy guide rather than the umbrella link or telling me to go to cydia because for iPhone #1 there's no make my life easy button and iPhone #2 can't use cydia (even reinstalling it doesn't make it work). I want to shsh both and restore iPhone #1 and #2 to 3.1.2 firmware. iPhone #1 has become glitchy so I want to restore it x-x but I heard I can't unless I have shsh blobs and people are saying I can't shsh blob on 3.1.2 but I see recent posts which says to shsh blob on any firmware ...so I'm kind of last. Can anyone point me to the right direction? :/
Update both phones to 3.1.3 with stock 3.1.3 ipsw file. Make sure you download a stock 3.1.2 ipsw as well.
You wanna shift+restore to 3.1.3 first for both phones.
You will most likely get error 1015 (or a variation which could be 1011, 1013, etc) which is fine.
You will then use Recboot to kick the phones out of recovery mode after the restores.
You will then download Redsn0w 0.9.4 and use that to jailbreak. This is when you will use the 3.1.2 ipsw as it wont recognize the 3.1.3 ipsw. No worries, you are gonna end up on 3.1.3.
Unlock with Ultrasn0w in Cydia.
This should work cuz for #1, Cydia will now work cuz of a fresh restore. Both phones should be able to save SHSHs in Cydia now, but only for 4.0 and 4.0.1. You wont need 3.1.x SHSHs for a 3G since you will always be able to restore to 3.1.x.
Edit: shift+restore to upgrade them to 3.1.3 (not the upgrade button). Also, be sure to put phones in DFU mode before restoring. And be sure to set your phones up as new after the restores, you dont want previous jb data carrying over by restoring from back up.

Oh I didn't know I could upgrade to 3.1.3. Thanks xD i was scared that I could ONLY restore to 4.0 which worried me because a lot of 3g users said that after upgrading to 4.0 their iPhone was dramatically slower. Thanks :]
