Unlock/jailbreak 3gs on 4.0.1?? Is it possible without previous jailbreak?

My 3gs is freshly restored as of yesterday and updated. I keep looking for guides to unlock/jailbreak 4.0.1? I dont see much, i ran across a couple things but they say you have to be already jailbroken ? Is it possible to start with 4.0.1 and jailbreak/unlock ? If so how?

on your iphone go to jailbreakme.com and just do it... before that make sure to save your SHSH blobs in case you want to downgrade in the future

and before you jailbreak make sure no apps/games running at multitask, if so remove them all, reboot your phone and do the jailbreak..
