Default Will APPLE be able to take away jailbreakme...
Is there anyway apple can get jailbreakme taken down? Now that jailbreaking is legal, jailbreakme is allowed to always be there right?

They can't take it down but they can patch the exploit.

Apple can't take it down. But, Apple CAN prevent jailbreaking by covering up those holes.

In other words, Jailbreakme.com will always be there.

Argh! You beat me to it, Cer0.

so basically saying the iphone 4 on 4.0 and 4.0.1 will always have jailbeakme

Correct if you have your SHSH saved to get to that point.

It will be fixed soon and I bet it won't wait for 4.1. I wouldn't be surprised if Apple drops 4.0.2 or something.

you understand that's a bad thing right?? jailbreakme is not a positive thing to have, it's a giant hole in the phone

No dude. Jailbreakme is not a hole in the iPhone. Apples firmware was the hole in the iPhone. Comex just took advantage of the hole to drop the jailbreak.

it's a hole in the pdf reader that allows root access and remote code execution.. it works for us bc at the moment it's sweet and gets to a good goal

when a malicious person starts sending around exploitable pdf's that kill your phone it won't be much of a feature anymore..

useful or not, the way this works is NOT a good thing

The PDF problem has been taken care of. Your safer being jailbroken then not. One of the Dev Team members created a patch that warns you if a PDF is trying to access root. So those who are not jailbroken are don't have this security.

unaware of that, nice deal.. i have no problem jailbreaking and glad they found a way to do it, but the original exploit was a definite problem. that's awesome that they made that patch before apple

i dont think the site will get taken down, however apple will patch their PDF filter system which is currently the "hole" that allows JailbreakMe to gain root access i imagine the next jb will have to be done through a GUI on your computer like snowbreeze, which kinda sucks, doing it off a website is more of a thrill lol...

They have investigated the exploit method used by JailbreakMe 2.0 and according to them, they have already developed a fix for it which will be released in a form of new firmware update soon.

indeed, i went to my local apple store today to jailbreak one of their i4s, but they had OpenDNS banning jailbreakme.com, someone needs to put the payload on a different site so we can still cause mischief in apple's own stores!!!!!!!!!

They shouldn't have dine the website. Draws too much attn, I thunk they were trying to make a point, show off an do an in your face to apple. Should have done it via computer download. Sure apple would still figure out how they did it but a magician should not just give away his secrets. The court said jb is not illegal, that was a good victory, now it's like gloating which will only make it harder to jb future releases.
