Well I was IMing someone when my wifi died.

So I tried to restore but it gets to the part "Restoring iPhone Firmware" then it messes up there with either errors or nothing happens.


And I cant get to recovery with the tri angle. All I get is the screen with the usb wire and the itunes logo on my phone.

I keep getting the same error 1011

Connect it to iTunes when you get that! The picture is pretty self explanatory..

Ive tried to restore to 1.0.2 but it says iphone cannot be restored.

What do I do?

It seems like nothing is working..

If worse comes to worse should I just return it and try to get a new one?

What should I tell the people at the store?

I'm having the same issue, i keep getting error 1011 during update and restore. Did you return it to the apple store? did they give you a replacement iphone?

I got the same error. What cuases it? It seems like theres no fixing it. I went to Apple and they couln't fix it so they gave me a new phone like it was nothing!

You need to be specific, as in what firmware did u've previously and what firmware are you trying to restore?

Get iNdependence 1.2.5. Make sure iTunes and iTunes helper are not running. Connect iphone to Mac. Run iNdependence and go to the Firmware tab. Select "Enter DFU mode". This allows you to downgrade to 1.0.2 using iTunes. You will need to have an image of the 1.0.2 firmware ready before you do this. The Help section of iNdependence contains detailed information on what you have to do to downgrade to 1.0.2 using iTunes.

I would say run ibrickr v091 with iphone on restore mode, and follow the instructions. As it says if the screen is green then just upgrade the phone to 1.1.1 with itunes and then downgrade it back again with ibrickr/itunes or if its red it should be fine.
At least thats what I did when I got the same error and it worked.

the headset jack of my iPhone has turned half-red...but i think that's cause of the mosquito that died in there...must have activated the water sensor...but..one fine day...i go close to my pool...slip and fall...and voila...my iPhone's wet...but it's still up and running...flashes white for a while...then i turn it off...then i leave for 2 days...so that it can get dry..when i connect it to iTunes...i get the connect to iTunes...try to the restore and update...can't get it done..UNKNOWN ERROR 1011...now i'm trying all sorts of things...iActivator doesn't even work on windows xp..so now i have no idea what to do..i tried the downgrade...everything..what should i do?

Only I did upgred iphone to fw 1.1.2, and IMEI, ECCID, No Wi-Fi & blue tooth get fix automatly.

So I get it back to native fw version (1.1.1 on my case) jail break, anySIM and phone it's workin now.

Hope Works for everyone with same problem
