    Default iPhone 2G not charging/powering on USB power surge message when plugged in

    I have an iphone 2g that I have had for a bit. Thought I'd sell it, so I plugged it in to restore it to factory.

    I got a message about a power surge on a USB hub and the phone doesn't charge or power up.

    I've tried USB ports in the front and back of the PC. I've cleaned the ports with compressed air.

    I've also tried to use the get-to-DFU trick with the home and power keys.

    Any thoughts?
