Today when unlocking my jailbroken 3.1.2 3GS the unlock screen looked really strange. I usually get the standard blue earth wallpaper, the time and the "slide to unlock" thing.
But this time the wallpaper was a white skull (jolly roger) on a black background. And there were strange app icons in black white and red I think. I didn't have time to read the names of the apps. Also the "slide to unlock" thing didn't say "slide to unlock" but something else. App icons on the unlock screen was kinda odd?
I do the slide to unlock motion on routine before I even see it, but it didn't work this time. I got kinda freaked out by this strange screen and pushed the power button a couple of times and ended up on the regular unlock screen within a couple of seconds. Since I only saw it for a second or two I didn't get a good look at it, and I didn't take a screen shot. Sadly I'm unable to reproduce it.
That is safemode. Did a app crash or you install anything. Like a dos looking skull? If it is what I thinking it is then you entered safe mode. It happens when somehthing crashes the OS.
Edit: I may be wrong on this. Been a while since I went into safe mode.
I have ssh installed, but I never used the default password. Otherwise that's the only iphone worm I've ever heard of.
I remember pretty clearly the jolly roger wallpaper, strange text in the slide to unlock, etc. But I only saw it for a second and I guess the safe mode screen looks a bit as what I'm describing. But I'm certain that I did not get the springboard crash message, and I did not restart the phone as would have been required if in safe mode?
I would like to wipe it clean to get rid of whatever it was. But on the other hand I'd like to happen once more so I can snap a screen shot and confirm that I'm not hallucinating!
