There's a water sensor in both the headphone jack and dock connector. If they turn pink it shows water damage.

There is also water indicators on the internals of the phone. They will be able to tell it has water damage. Your best shot is to seal the phone in a bag of uncooked rice for a couple days and let it try to soak up all the water. Might get lucky and itll turn back on.
Have they released the jailbreak in the app store yet?

Great advice, done it before. However, I found silica gel works much faster. If you have the chance to go to an arts and crafts store, grab some silica gel and put your phone in a sealed container with it (doesnt have to be IN the silica gel just in the same sealed container). Oh yes, before doing so, grab a bottle of 99% (100% if you can find it, i got 99% off amazon for cheap) and soak your phone completely submerged in the iso alcohol for 10-15 minutes. The alcohol wont hurt the phone. What it serves to do is it washes dried minerals from water from the internal crevices that might affect the function of the phone and evaporates it right out of the phone since silica gel or rice will pull moisture. This method has saved water damaged phones of all kinds

yeah if the sensors turn pink, they stay that way so apple will deny you service if it ever gets wet so you gotta find the right fix on your own.
