Relatively Simple Question

I'm curious if its possible to connect an Iphone 4 to the computer and through the 30 pin connector get internet from the computer?

I work in areas where I get no cell service but I do have internet on my computer. Just curious if there's any way for this to be done on the new 4OS

If the computer has wireless you can setup an adhoc network that the phone can connect to via wifi and use the Internet connection.

I set up the adhoc but it doesn't see the network? Although the computer will show it (but says On Demand)

The problem I seem to be having is in wireless settings when I click (let users connect through this to the internet) my laptop kills the internet connection completely.

(But iphone isn't seeing the wireless network anyways)

I can share the LAN connection though

Main problem is Iphone isn't seeing the Adhoc Wireless

If your phone isn't seeing the adhoc network then your computer isn't broadcasting properly. Try getting rid of the network and setting it up again.
