Where is my disk space gone?

guys i need a help.

see this screenshot.

it says i got 2.85 gb in applications and 3.44 in others.

but i got only 500 mb of themes and 40 mb of ringtones and no music files. so where is tht extra 3 gb space? any idea what it can be?

If I'm not mistaken, I believe video shows as "other." Do you have a lot of video recorded? If not, download WinSCP, ssh into your phone and start checking directories' sizes.

Videos show as purple not as other.

This can happen if you have a lot of cracked apps or cydia root apps. Do you have AppSync if the the prior is true?

Everytime you jailbreak there's a default root partition sized at 750mb (Disk Space) And Just Cross That 750mb Out, no worries. Also, your filesystem reserves space as well in order to work. If you get an out of the box iPhone that is 8Gb, It will not be 8Gb actually a little less. Sometimes memory runs out and tries to use virtual memory from your space, but that can't be it. That's basically it. Packages and 750mb of space unless you have lots of official appStore apps. Root partition at default differs from JB tool to tool.

i dont have appsync and any cracked apps and games.

i do have some apps and games bought from itunes and i believe that these games and apps are shown as apps which is total of 2.85 gb.

i dont have a single video in my phone nor a single mp3 (audio tracks).

so if i deduct 700 mb for jb root partition from 3.44 gb then it will total 2.8 gb.

now where is this 2.8 gb gone? this is a mystery.

Did you restore from a backup or is this a new phone?
