    Default I can't update to 4.0 with my 3G 3.1.2

    I try to update through itunes. after it syncs i click update. it starts to backup my phone and it freezes every time. is there anyway i can get by this?

    Try putting it in DFU mode then connecting to itunes and restoring it. After it restores it will automatically upgrade to 4.0.
