Help
Thought this might be a quicker way to get a good answer.
I was gifted an Iphone some months ago. I think it is a 3g?
16gb
3.1.3 (7E18)
05.12.01
IBOOT - 596.24
I am thinking I can use the new dev-team stuff ?
Like I said, I am capable of finding out but am new to this site and decided to start using the knowledge that is here.

Well Your gonna want to restore to 4.0 and use redsn0w to jailbreak, and ultrasn0w to unlock if needed...
Also be sure not to enable multitasking or backgrounds, redsn0w is still in beta, and those make the 3g run really crappyThe only thing I ask in return for helping, is that you click the thanks button, Thanks!

So you're saying it's a 3g then? and not a 3gs?

lol no i'm agreeing with you its a 3g
Its easy to check, is the "iPhone" on the back in a flat matte color, or chrome?
Matte = 3g
chrome = 3gs
