How to exit field test mode

Does anyone know how I can exit field test mode (*3001#12345#*)? I've been playing around with that after reading articles on the iPhone 4 reception issues, but now it's there no matter what.

That's the thing, it doesn't. Also tried inputting the same code again, respringing and restarting. Any other ideas are appreciated. I'm using a 3GS btw.

It makes no difference, same as with a reboot etc.

Have read on some of the test codes enter #3001#12345## reverses it worth a try!

The tequila isn't a bad idea actually, though the network reset made no difference unfortunately

Try this: tap the numbers displayed. It should change back to the bars. Worked for me.

BTW - for those wondering, this is how it works:

Once you open Fieldtest.app by dialing the *3001#12345#* code, if you exit the app normally by just tapping the Home button, the signal meter goes back to bars automatically. However if you hold the home button down, or reboot while in Fieldtest.app, the phone will continue to display the numeric signal strength until you tap it to change it back to bars.

Thanks for the tip, that actually works but only until the next respring or reboot at which point I have to tap it again. Any idea how to turn off field test mode for good?
