How to get Att unlimited plan if you have not already bought or upgraded to iphone 4

Didnt see this around, not sure if anyone else had realized this. This is a way to get grandfathered into att with the unlimited data plan. You must do this before you get your iphone 4.

Buy or borrow someones old 2g iphone.

install your sim card into the phone.

it will ask you to connect your phone to itunes to activate.

when you activate it will ask you to select your data unlimited plan for the old iphone. $20.

select it, now the phone will be active.

now go upgrade your phone to the iphone 4.

you will get the option to select unlimited data for $30.

cool huh. not sure if att can stop this as the old iphone was marketed as unlimited data + 200msgs.

But i wouldnt wait too long if they catch onto this or this posts gets all over the place.

i am not sure also if you currently have the iphone 4, then out your sim in a 2g, then change the dataplan, if they will just keep it as the 2g plan then when they catch on make it the unlimited.

That's ATT's way of forcing you to buy their data plan. Its not necessarily a good thing.

I'm pretty sure your data plan goes with your phone.
