Weird Accelerometer

So first I thought my Accelerometer was broken because my phone doesnt go into Landscape mode(I restored 3 times!)
But now I tried a water level gauge app on my iPhone 3G and it shows ALL movements into all directions..
Please help me! What is wrong?

Edit: Running on iOS4 and I set up as new device..

what firmware you running and did you start as new device or use backup? cause at times using a backup can cause problems when using a backup from a jailbreak

I am running on iOS 4 and it already didnt work right after the restore and the setting up as a new device! not from the backup.. the weird thing is yesterday it worked.. just today not anymore?!
