Sending emails on iPhone 4 is SLOW!

Hi, i got my iPhone 4 everything runs great BUT. When i send an email while connected to WIFI, its VERY SLOW. I mean even if its just a few lines of text or a pictures that is 1MB, It takes a few mins to send. Anyone else have this problem? Any Solutions? Thanks guys

I get this problem on my iPhone 3GS 3.1.3.. I have a fast connection speed on my router. I did upgrade to OS4 & it was better but opted back to 3.1.3 for my jailbreak.
