Restore from a 3.1.3 backup for iOs4?
So my desktop does not recognize my internet connection. (Even tho I am writing this from my desktop). Therefore, "itunes cannot connect to the internet". So I cannot upgrade my 3GS thru my desktop. I do all iphone managing on my desktop.
My laptop has fully capable internet recgonization with itunes, so I can update to ios4 if I plug in my iphone to it.
Problem is, laptop adds a mysterious 8 gigs to my iphone of nothing, so I would have to restore it.
My question is, with the above scenario, can I create a backup of my current 3.1.3 on my desktop, restore and upgrade on my laptop, and then load the backup (which would be at 3.1.3) from the desktop? Or would there be compatibility issues?
