conecting to PC nightmare

my Iphone 3GS (jailbroken) is driving me mad.

When I connect up to my PC (regardless of whether Itunes is running or not) - the thing just connects and disconnects repeatedly....forever!

If Itunes is running, I can see my Iphone pop up in the "devices" section...then disappear with a beep...then appears again with a beep,...then disappears...etc etc wtc.

Anyone have any tips? most appreciated!!

It sounds to me like your data cable is either bad or going bad.
