Stuck on boot screen

I have attempted to do a erase settings and content on my 3G and it never rebooted fully.

I've tried turning it off to reboot and the apple comes up and the wheel spins for a second and then stops.

what the hell?

any ideas guys?

C'mon guys...blkra1n jb'd and it's a brick now because I erased content?

Try to put it in dfu mode and restore.

Thank You, I got it but the whole issue is I can't choose to restore to previous 3.1.2..it's now 3.1.3 and I need to jailbreak it.

I can't update this phone to 4.0 because it automatically adds all my contacts and info...or so says the prompt.

You're gonna have to restore in DFU.It won't ever complete.The wheel stops.I tried for hours with no luck.
