iTunes problem for restoring firmware

Everytime i want to restore a firmware on my system the itunes stops at where you can see in the picture,although i updated to 9.2 from 9.1 which had the problem still it exists...

I am on a Mac as well, and I had the EXACT same problem.

Here is what worked for me, I have been searching for days for a solution.
I hope it will work for you as well, let me know

Step 1: Delete and reinstall iTunes
Step 2: Follow this guide to downgrade to 3.12/3.1.3

And remember, dont JB 3.1.2/3.1.3 with spirit, they you cant JB iOS 4

do you have wifi sync installed don't know if it does the same on a mac but windows you get that same thing happen I un-installed it and it restored fine

I do have the wifi sync,will uninstall it ,probably that's the cause

Removing the wifi sync solved my problem...thanks for help
