Default Question about closing apps on the 4.

So, I know I can double-click the Home button to see all my running apps, and then hold down on 1 of them until I get the red minus icon which I can then use to close all running apps.

My question is, how do I properly close an app for good when I have it open, so that it doesn't continue to run in the background?

I appreciate your response, but you may want to read my question again.

Install 'Remove Recents' from Cydia. It will instantly close the apps which does not support MultiTasking once clicking the Home Button.
Press Thanks! If Its Worth It!

Your response seems to indicate there is no way to shut down apps on the initial close without jailbreaking.
