    Default iOS 4 Persistent WiFi
I have an iPhone 3G, hacktivated on 4.0 that i use as a glorified iPod Touch. I read that there was persistent wifi being added to iOS 4. After some searching, i found that it supposedly works when push notifications are enabled, yet i cant seem to get it to work. Anyone having luck with this?

Pretty sure just the iPhone 4 does this, not anything newer running on iOS4.

I briefly had iOS 4 running on a 3rd gen iPod touch, and it looked to me like persistent wifi was working just fine. I didn't do extensive tests, but it certainly didn't turn off after 30 seconds of being in sleep mode, like older versions . . .

Maybe this was another feature left off for 3G users, like multitasking? . . . or maybe it was only included on iPod touch? A mystery worth unravelling . . .

According to this chart, most devices get it.
