"Loading Changes" Taking Ages!!!

ok i need some help i'm on ios 4 final version jailbroken with pwnage tool verion 0.9.5b5-4 on my iphone 3g and cydia at fist was having problems with "loading packages" it would take forever but i fixed that and now i run cydia it loads normally but then when i go to the changes tab it takes ages to finish loading does anyone have a similar problem or a solution to this??? please help!!!

I had the same problem, Cydia was taking forever to 'Load Changes'

My fix was this:

1) Navigate to /private/var/lib/cydia
2) Delete metadata.plist. Make a backup before.

it's because there are a ton of items on the list. my guess is my have cracked repos....
