Default Can't get AutoInstall to work
My friend has an iPod touch with firmware 3.1.2, but he won't have wifi for a few weeks. However I am helping him jailbreak. We have jailbroken his iPod with Spirit so Cydia shows up, and installed iPhone explorer on his PC so he can access the system files.

However when I put the ******* .deb file into his AutoInstall folder in the Cydia folder, it just does not autoinstall upon turning it off and on again. Is there anything I am doing wrong? I heard that OpenSSH might be required but I've no idea how to install that without wifi.

It turns out the problem is he needs the afc2add cydia app to access his root system files from the PC to insert the .deb files in the autoinstall folder. However he can't install afc2add unless he gets wifi! And all the free wifi spots he tried at Mcdonalds and burger king seem to block Cydia apps. Anyway he can install afc2add solely via USB cable?
