to the people preordering through Apple, are you charged instantly or when phone ships?

i want to preorder through Apple and get my order in, which it wont be shipped till July 14th.

however if i can get a hold of one beforehand id like to cancel - are we allowed to cancel preorders or are we charged instantly??

Charged instantly. My credit card wouldn't go through cause it would go over my credit limit. Their site gave me a denied error. Had to have mommy loan me her card til I get paid and can pay her back

well im pretty sure at&t and apple do it the same way.
they both charge once its shipped.

the reason why it didnt accept his card (above) is because you need to be able to authorize that money immediately.


basically, the moment you give them your credit card, it leaves a -$200 in pending (meaning its not out of your account quite yet, but ready to be sent off). which is how mine is with at&t.
