Am I the only one to notice in-app texting??

Ok now that I've seen it 2 times I have to ask. What does apple mean by "in-app SMS"? Because being a jailbreaker when i hear this i think "chomp sms". I saw it one time when iphone os 4.0(now iOS4) was introduced a while back and now during steve jobs keynote at WWDC. Can someone tell me what this means?
Ive attached a picture so you can see what I'm talking about. Top right corner it says it.

Probably so you can text while not interupting running apps

Similar to how a current app can let you send something via email and just bring up a sheet to send the email without leaving the app. Same concept but via SMS.

This happens when you take a photo, go to your camera roll, and press the MMS button. The sheet comes up, you send your message, and are returned to the photos app.
