Hopeful iPod to iPhone Fix? Please Help!

So I recently dropped my iPhone First Gen and the top part of the screen cracked resulting in the screen having "seizures" flashing diffrent color lights when I touch the top part of the screen. I was just wondering it the screen size and material is the same on the iPod(1st gen) as on the iPhone so I could replace my iPhone screen with the iPod screen.
Any feedback appreciated!

I would just get another iPhone screen. Just to be safe.
