Letter behind

Hello,
When I go to enter txt in a search or SMS the letters are SO delayed...
I tap go to and the G is frozen even though I hear the click sound...
Within about 5 seconds the rest of the letters appear.
Is this a know issue and if so is there anything I need to do to fix this?

I have a 2g with v3.1.2/3.1.3 installed.

yes multiple times.
Didn't change the delay

Hmmm this isn't a known issue that I'm aware of. Did it start happening when you upgraded to 3.1.2? Is the phone jailbroken?

It's a royal pain, but the best option may be to do a restore and instead of doing a restore from a previous back up, choose set up as new phone. Just make sure you back up all your photos, contacts and such before doing it.

Well I haven't used the device for about a year because I had to change companies.
But before updating I don't remember the sluggish behavior.
The phone was on v3.0, and it is jailbroken.

Then yeah you may want to try a fresh restore. It can do wonders sometimes
