Backgrounder & Activator causing ALL APPS to crash!?

Recently, cydia detected updates to backgrounder, which I installed. Subsequently, the new version of backgrounder uses Activator as a dependency. I did not previously have Activator installed. So I downloaded and install both packages (backgrouder & activator). This is where the odd behavior begins:

-After a respring or reboot I can launch any app successfully.
- However, after I quit the previously launched app, any subsequent app launches immediately crash to springboard.
- I have fiddled with settings in both apps (backgrounder & activator) to no avail
- Uninstalling either package fixes the condition.


Any thoughts??? other than I suck at life...
