iPhone 3G - Speaker not working - Water Damage
Hi guys
My iPhone had a little swim in the bath, I immediately turned it off and removed the sim.
I then shook as much water off and dried off any residue.
I then put it in a cloth and set it on a radiator.
Finally I have put it in some rice to remove any dampness.
Now the ringtone plays as it should however I get the popup this is not made to work with this iPhone and the ipod function or lock unlock functions do not operate.
On another note if I go to change the ringtone it will play the sample and if I hit the lock button I can hear the lock sound but when I unlock I am back to no sound.
Anyone who could help I would greatly appreciate it.
Many Thanks
Thomas

0 - ALWAYS!! Open the iPhone to dry out if you got water into it!
(Dried water leaves minuscule residue behind that is conductive - causes unwanted connections)
1 - Open the phone (REMOVE the Battery!!!)
2 - disassemble totally
3 - inspect connections / boards
4 - clean connections / boards as needed with a super soft toddler toothbrush and 100% clean high proof alcohol (no suger - no color - no nothing in it)
5 - assemble
6 - keep fingers crossed and turn onDo hope that helps
