Text message just vibrate while the rest of the phone has tones

I am trying to get it where my 3G will vibrate when I get a text and then also be able to have it ring for phone calls, I have tried to select "none" on the text and turn vibrate on but it doesn't vibrate and I've also tried to use a silent ringtone to replace one of the text message tones and it still doesn't work.

Anyone else have a way to do this?

It should work if you correctly SSH'd and replaced the Text message tone with silence. Tell me what you did exactly.

I ssh'd and replaced the third tone down with a silent one. But it was a mp4 I believe and I thought I converted it right for the aiff and then renamed it but I may not have. Anyone have a silent tone already converted to the correct format?

It's really important you have the right format... It's been a while since I replaced a text tone. I think I remember either using iTunes or an online converter to do it.

That may be my problem it is silent though when I get a message just doesn't vibrate
