Password fields not showing "****"

I have a jailbroken(custom FW) 3g running 3.1.3 with a BB of 04.26.08

Ever since I have updated to 3.1.3 I have noticed that when ever I type in a password instead of asterisks it leaves the space blank. This is annoying if I miss tap a letter or number and have to redo the whole password because I cannot see where I was. Also some apps save the password, but I can't tell which ones since the field is blank. Has anyone else had this problem and/or found a fix? Thank you for any help!
