Default Building an iPhone 3gs from scratch?
    Hello everyone,
I have a new project in mind, wanted to discuss it with you.
Thinking about building an iPhone 3GS 16GB from scratch,I built a list of components and it concludes with 217$~,it consists a motherboard, back plate, dock, panel, and a digitizer (spare parts + one broken iPhone).
The price is low,but would it be a smart thing to do ?
Your opinion will be most welcomed,
    Thanks.

That can't be the total cost for parts, you better check again. There is a thread on here about this subject and with all the parts spelled out it was much more expensive to build than to buy.

Finding a good 3gs logic board for $217 would be impressive in itself, so unless you have a parts phone, which wouldn't be building from
"scratch", I just can't see it happening for that price

I put together a list of parts and approx. prices before, and it would stream past $600-$800 unless you found some REALLY good deals on used parts.

But theres no way you will get a mainboard in working condition for less than a couple hundred bucks by itself. New they are $400 or better.

And there is absolutely no way of getting all the parts for $217.
