Text Free App Push not working?

Hello,

I recently upgraded my 2G iphone to 3.1.2 to use TextFree App with Push notification. I have installed the app (few other apps that uses push notification as well) and turned onotifications to "ON" in settings, however, the notifications are not coming in at all if I'm not in the app.

This really is frustrating!! I can send and receive text using TextFree App but to be notified about incoming text, I have to be running the app. How can I fix this? My e-mails are coming in O.K. and I get notified frequently but not the text nor other apps that are using push notifications.
